Overview

The original “Bad Girls” was a Billboard Hot 100 #1 for Donna Summer in 1979. This version keeps the song and puts it on a four-on-the-floor house beat, in the style of Party Pupils’ other reworks. Kaleena Zanders sings the full vocal, so it is a new recording of the song rather than a sample.

Party Pupils’ reworks of Christopher Cross, The Doobie Brothers, Hall & Oates, KC & The Sunshine Band and Looking Glass have done well on TikTok, Instagram and Spotify, and he has released a single with Mayer Hawthorne. “Bad Girls” is a song most listeners already know, which suits both dance playlists and broader feel-good playlists.

Party Pupils has 677K monthly listeners, 252K Instagram followers and 55M+ views across Instagram and TikTok in the past 12 months. He has sold out shows in major markets this year and plays Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Florida in November. Kaleena Zanders has 591K monthly listeners and features with GRiZ, Breathe Carolina & Dropgun, Shift K3Y and Sunday Scaries, and plays Breakaway Houston on November 13.

About Party Pupils

Party Pupils is a DJ and producer who started the Yacht House sound: house remixes of yacht rock, disco and soul songs. His remixes of “Ride Like The Wind” by Christopher Cross, “What A Fool Believes” by The Doobie Brothers and “I Can’t Go For That” by Hall & Oates went viral and brought those songs to dance music audiences.

He released “Baby Come Back” with Mayer Hawthorne and official remixes of KC & The Sunshine Band’s “That’s The Way” and Looking Glass’ “Brandy,” and has more remixes that have gone viral before release coming out officially. Since early 2026 he has sold out shows in major markets, signed a Las Vegas residency with Tao Group, and is booking larger venues through 2027.

About Kaleena Zanders

Kaleena Zanders is a vocalist, songwriter and DJ from San Jose, now based in Los Angeles. Her grandmother was a choir leader, singer and pianist, and gospel is the root of her singing. She has sung on records with Chris Lake, AC Slater, Loud Luxury, GRiZ (“Nobody Else”), Sunday Scaries (“Dance No More”), Breathe Carolina & Dropgun (“Rhythm Is A Dancer”) and Shift K3Y (“V I B R A T I O N”).

She taught herself to DJ and now sings live over her own sets, with dates at EDC Las Vegas, Beyond Wonderland and Outside Lands. Her song “Stronger Than I’ve Ever Been” ran in a Toyota ad during Super Bowl LII. She has worked with the Ad Council, GLAAD and Best Buddies, and released the album Anything Goes in 2026.
